The first week of February we stayed in Hawkes Bay and in Wellington with dear friends.

Hawkes Bay: Clare & Kieran

  • Nice BBQ at Clare's and Kieran's place

  • Thanks Clare for being a great tour Guide!

  1. She took us up the mountain to see the green (currently yellow - as it was very dry) hills

  2. She showed us hidden waterfalls

  3. She took us for a great wine tasting where we got a private tour behind the scenes (remember the funny voice you would get standing in the middle of the 'dome').

  4. We had very nice tapas!

  5. We had a great time with our friends - thank you!

Wellington: Marc & Jann

Marc & Jann have this lovely farm up in the mountains where we were allowed to stay a couple of days. Great, lovely people that we may call our friends now :)

  • Survived the storm at their place

  • Went collecting eggs from their chickens

  • Had a soooo yummy lamb

  • Helped with dividing the lambs

  • Had a great BBQ with their family

  • Marc took us up the mountain for a amazing view over Wellington

  • They took us on a tiki tour through the area

  • Had great breakfasts (pancakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • Spent some nice and cozy nights there with them just chatting.

Thank you so much!!! We love you :)

Wellington: Lois (Tammys mom)

We were very happy to meet Lois (Tammys mom).and spend the night at her place. She is a so lovely, caring and funny lady!!

Thank you for taking us on a private tour where we saw the nice coastline and the plane of Guns and Rose (we even saw one of the bandmembers in Wellington - do not ask us which one though).

Thank you for the great bacon and eggs!

Big kiss from us!

Wellington in general (source: Hop on / Hop off bus we took)

Nothing beats Wellington on a fine day. We fell in love with that great city (Windy Welly).

We are Constanze and Rick Daamen. A since 2011 married Dutch-German couple in their almost 40ies. After a few ups and downs in our lives, we decided in 2016 to take a year off and travel the world. End of 2017 we came back to the Netherlands. Since then we have been trying to find our way back to work and live in Rotterdam. Now, we will change everything again to our new plan B.
