20 - 22nd February: Lake Takapo
On the road again to Lake Tekapo
Rick changed the airfilter of Monty himself (he is really getting handy :)). now he purrs like a kitten again...Monty just for the record haha.
Lake Tekapo is the bluest lake we have ever seen (it even looks unreal!)
We stayed at a simpel camping at the small lake Mg Gregor
At night you can see so many stars! It is one of the top 10 spots in the world where you can the most stars due to almost no air polution.
On the 21st (remember: salary day = favourite day) we went horse riding (..I emphazise WE - yes, Rick as well!)
3 - 4 hours with a little cookie break.
Great views and we even went in cunter (again WE, haha Rick as well). I am so proud of him.
Reece Witherspoon actually booked the horse trekking right after us.
23- 24th February: Mount Cook & Roadtrip to Wanaka
It is raining again! We arrived at the camping very early as we wanted to hike but it just did not stop raining until the afternoon. We went for a little hike in the afternoon which turned out to take 3 hours (note for myself: at Kia point you actually do not find Kia's = the parrots not the cars).
We played 'Kaboe' with a Dutch couple.
The next morning we go up at 6:30 and went hiking for 3 hours again.
Beautiful walk through the Hooker valley to the Glacier where we actually spotted Kia's!
...I hated the bridges though (very high and very swinging)
After the hike we left to drive to Wanaka.
Wanaka is very cute little town next to a gorgeous lake (btw Rick got bitten by a humble bee ..!)
As the camping was very close to the town and the weather could not be better we went for a drink in the town.
Next destination: Queenstown
