05th March - 09th March: Fiordland, Milford Sounds, Fox Glacier & Greymouth
After Dunedin we were on the road again direction Milford Sounds.
Stayed at very cute camping in Manapouri right at the beginnen of the Fiordland. The nature and views down there are already breathtaking.
On the 6th we drove up to the Sounds in order to stay at the only camping there: The Milford Sounds lodge. The campings location is great, we just were very unlucky with the weather: rain, rain, rain, rain, sandfly, rain, sandfly and more rain (and one more sandfly).
Luckily the weather changed the next day: Hello sun and blue sky! We booked a cruise at 12:15 and could experience the beauty of the Milford Sounds with great weather (perfect conditions).
Fox Glacier
After the cruise we left direction Fox Glacier and spent the night in Lumsden on a free camping. It got sooooo cold that night.
The next day we spent again in the car (6 hours of driving) direction Fox Glacier. Why in a hurry? Well, we have a potential buyer for Monty waiting for us in Nelson and we promised to be there before the weekend ..so we need to make some miles. The nature and views we saw on that roadtrip were again very breathtaking! What a beautiful country.
We stayed at Fox Glacier township and took at hike up the Fox the next day.
Greymouth
In Greymouth we saw the sun for the last time. We drove 4 hours to get here. The sunset we saw at the beach was so beautiful (so it was worth driving down there)! Very romantic. We even had a movie night in Monty: The last unicorn (In German: Das letzte Einhorn).
The following day the rain started: rain, rain & rain. We have an inspection of Monty planned on the 10th in Nelson. Let 's see what will happen.
