Singapore

On the 23rd March we took the plan3 direction Asia, more precisely to the gate of Asia: Singapore. The customs/immigration took for ages which already kind of freaked me out (for no reason btw). After a few hours sleep in a hotel we left the next morning to visit Oli and Timo Eckhard (friends from good old Germany). Here our hightlights of Singapore:

• Their appartement was just super cool and close to our first tourist attraction: Sentosa

• Sentosa itself is a small island that is rebuild into one big kind of Disney land (we thought we can go there to lay on the beach ...well, not really). We had our first Bintang at a kind of a beach there.

• The cable car from Sentosa back to Harbour Front gave us a great view over Singapore (Harbour).

• We had our first real Chinese Hot Pot! Sooo yummy!!

• Chinatown the next day gave us our first impression how the real Asia might be. We were browing throught it for a couple of hours (due to the rain ...).

• CBD is certainly one the coolest parts of the big cities we have ever seen. We visited Marina Bay Sands, the Marina Bay Shopping mall (we did not go up the hotel Sands), we saw the great skyline, the i light marina bay with its lights and had very nice indian food at the food market Lau Pat Sat.

• Timo made the best German breakfast (best eggs ever) for us ... unprepared LOL.

• Our last day in Singapore we spent trying to get my mobile fixed (I broke the glass - "yes Rick, you are right. I should have bought the protection for it when you told me ...10.000 times or so"). We did not succeed as my Samsung is not cool enough so noone had any spare glasses for fix it.

• Our last night we spent together with Oli and Timo in a great Thai restaurant in Holland Village (Holland not because of the Netherlands but of famous architect named Hugh Holland).

Thank you guys so much for having us. You were sooo nice, generous and relaxed even though Oli is pregnant in the 7th month. Good luck with the baby boy!!
